k-2 math fluency: The apple Series (with freebies!)
I am so excited to be launching a new FREEBIE series each week!
I have decided to create math fluency packs for k-2 classrooms. Each will have a theme for the month.
But the best part…
Each week, the pack will be FREE for one week only! So if you follow me on TpT- you will be able to get all of these packs for free.
The first week each month will have TASK CARDS! These can be printed, laminated and used over and over again for fluency and review. I created fluency activities with k-2 students in mind so some of the cards may seem too easy or too hard for your students. Just choose the activities that work best for you! I think it is always good to have differentiated activities which is why I included all grades in one pack.
This is a preview of 12 activities included in the task card pack!
Picture 1: Place Value Clip It
Students will look at the apples in bundles of tens and ones. They will use a clothespin to clip the correct answer.
Picture 2: Apple Fact Families
Students look at the numbers on the 3 apples on each card. With those numbers they will create a fact family- creating two addition problems and two subtraction problems.
Picture 3/4: Make Ten and Make Five
Students will look at the different colored apples on the tens frame and fives frame. They will say the two numbers that make ten or five.
Picture 1: Tens Frame Clip It
Students will look at the apples on the tens frame. They will use a clothespin to clip the correct answer.
Picture 2: Apple Tracing and Counting
Students will trace the numbers on the apples. They will then place math links on the card to represent the number.
Picture 3: Place Value Puzzle
Students will match the bundles of tens and ones to the correct number on Johnny Appleseed’s head. This can also be used as a partner match up game!
Picture 4: Apple Number Bonds
Students will write in the missing number in each number bond to make it true.
Picture 1: First, Last or In Between
Students will write in the missing number in each sequence of numbers. It could be the first, last or in between number in each set.
Picture 2: Skip Counting Puzzles
Each puzzle skip counts by a different number- 2’s, 5’s or 10’s. Place each cut out set in its own baggie for students to place in order. This will create a picture!
Picture 3: Apple Seed Counting
Students will look at the number at the bottom of each apple. They will place the correct number of seeds on the apple. This can be done using the given apple seeds, real apple seeds, or play dough!
Picture 4: Tens Frame Puzzle
Students will match the tens frame to the correct number on Johnny Appleseed’s head. This can also be used as a partner match up game!
I really hope you enjoy this pack- it was so fun to make! Let me know if there are any other themes that you are interested in.
